Who We Are

We are four undergraduate students in the biomedical engineering program at Columbia University. This year we are working on AUSCULTAID, a device to improve the physical exam of the lung.

Annabelle Anandappa is currently engaging in research at the Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering directed by Professor Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic, where she contributes to projects in designing biomaterials for tissue engineering applications.

Alan Zambeli-Ljepović is focusing on biomedical imaging, with research exposure through Dr. Andrew Laine’s lab at Columbia. He has significant experience in shadowing and needs identification in the clinical settings of Columbia University Medical Center in New York and Mulago Hospital in Kampala, Uganda.

Hari Raman is currently specializing in tissue engineering, and conducts research in biomolecular motors and in cardiothoracic surgery in the lab of Dr. Henry Hess and at the Cardiopulmonary Research and Science Technology Institute respectively.

Kathryn Lau is currently studying tissue engineering and has research experience in diagnostics and drug delivery through her work in Dr. Samuel Sia’s lab at Columbia and Dr. Jianhao Bai’s lab at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology in Singapore.
